LCSARO to Aid in Emergency Response for the August Eclipse

Jefferson Park Meadows, Mount Jefferson WildernessLane County will be providing mutual aid to Linn County with communications and emergency response before, during and after the Eclipse on August 21, 2017.

The Lane County Sheriff’s Amateur Radio Operators (LCSARO) will be setting up, monitoring, and maintaining our portable amateur radio repeater and the Lane County Search and Rescue (SAR) portable repeater to provide coverage in many parts of the Mt. Jefferson Wilderness area. We have tested the site and areas covered include Jefferson Park.

The LCSARO portable repeater is on a frequency of 145.250 MHz with a -600 kHz input offset. The PL tone is 100hz.

The repeater should be functioning starting August 13 with an expected close of operation on August 26.

We will be monitoring the repeater from Santiam Junction starting Saturday August 19 through Monday August 21. SAR personal will also be stationed at Santiam Junction for response into the wilderness.
